ACCPTA’s mission is to help foster fully diverse community representation on PTAs, more active PTAs in all schools, PTA mentoring, support for college scholarships and participation in district-wide groups to provide a parent perspective. PTAs understand the importance of parent involvement and the need to help bridge the gap between home and school in order to support and strengthen the educational experience for all children. The tagline “everychild.onevoice” reflects that PTAs represent all children.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves more about 9,600 students in 17 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
