District seeks community advocate for workforce development

ALBANY, N.Y. (Dec. 1, 2017) -- The City School District of Albany is seeking a consultant to provide community outreach and promote local job opportunities relating to the rebuilding of Albany High School.

The Albany High project, which will begin in the spring of 2018, will mean hundreds of construction jobs through 2024. The district is committed to helping City of Albany residents, and especially residents of color, acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to get these jobs, as well as other construction-related jobs throughout our community and region.

The district also is committed to helping minority- and woman-owned businesses enterprises (MWBEs) be positioned to take advantage of these opportunities as well. Please visit our Rebuilding Albany High School section for more information.

The community advocate manager will work with individuals, certified MWBE companies and companies interested in pursuing MWBE certification so that they are qualified for job and contracting opportunities.

The district has issued a Request for Services (RFP) for the community advocate manager role. You can click here to download the bid packet, or visit our Employment section. Anyone interested in consulting with the district in this capacity must return all required materials by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

All materials must be submitted by the deadline in clearly marked and sealed envelopes. Please mail or hand-deliver bid packages to:
