Rebuilding AHS groundbreaking, tours June 1

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 22, 2019) -- All are invited to celebrate the start of the second phase of the Rebuilding Albany High School project at a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday, June 1. The event also will include opportunities to tour the construction site for the first phase of the project, which is currently in progress and scheduled to be completed in January.

  • The Phase 2 groundbreaking celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the front of school, in the old Washington Avenue parking lot.

  • The Phase 1 tours will begin at 9:15 a.m. in the back of the school, which is accessible from the North Main Avenue entrance.

 

Tour information

Four tour groups will be available serving a maximum of 20 people in each group. Tours will begin at 9:15 a.m., 9:25 a.m., 9:35 a.m., and 9:45 a.m. Each tour will last about 30 minutes. Because space is limited for the tour groups, we recommend signing up in advance by using the following link: bit.ly/rebuildtours.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves approximately 9,300 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
