Teacher concert and art show Jan. 24
N.Y. (Jan. 3, 2019) -- Experience the
remarkable talents of City School District of Albany teachers at a Jan.
24 concert and art exhibit.
The Albany Friends of Music will host its
annual Music Faculty Concert at 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 in the Albany High
School auditorium, with music teachers from throughout the district
performing solo and together. You also can check out a gallery of work
by district art teachers in the Albany High lobby before or after the
The event is free and open to all. Students
(and families) will get a chance to see their teachers in the spotlight,
for a change of pace.
Although the event is free, Albany Friends of Music
will hold raffles and sell merchandise and refreshments. All money
raised will be returned to programs that support district students.
Also at the event, Albany Friends of Music will
unveil its new logo and recognize the Albany High artist who created it
as part of an October logo-design contest.
Albany Friends of Music is a non-profit
affiliate of the Albany Fund for Education that provides support for
music in our schools, including its instrument donation initiative. For
