Volunteer work

Twice a week, both women read to and with students of English-as-a-new-language teacher Kathryn Sokaris. Campas also helps the English-language learners with math and homework.

Says the teacher

“It takes a certain type of person to work with immigrant kids who don’t speak English, a person who can make the kids relax and feel comfortable. These ladies are wonderful and I don’t know what I’d do without them.”
