Spring concerts to showcase music talents 

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 2, 2018) -- City School District of Albany schools will showcase the musical talents of students during the 2018 spring concert season.


The season opens Monday and runs through June 5. Elementary and middle school concerts will feature performances by students in band, orchestra and chorus. At the high school, in two performances, concert-goers will hear from two bands, two orchestras and two choirs.


Check out any or all of the concerts, which are free and open to the public. The schedule, in alphabetical order by school, follows:


Albany High School

Wednesday, May 30 -- 6:30 p.m. (Select Choir, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble)

Monday, June 4 -- 6:30 p.m. (Vocal Music, Orchestra, Advanced Orchestra)

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to work in partnership with our diverse community to engage every learner in a robust educational program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for success. The district serves more 9,600 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
