Albany High School will not be competing in indoor track this winter as we do not have the necessary areas and equipment to practice and compete safely this season. Ashley Chapple, the district’s Health, Physical Education and Athletics Director, is currently looking into indoor facilities for workouts/intramurals. Please stay tuned to social media and SNN for updates.
There isn’t currently a decision from New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, or the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, about high-contact indoor sports (basketball and wrestling). Football, volleyball and cheerleading are still planned for Fall Season 2, slated to begin March 1, but a final decision - considering health, safety and COVID-19 rates - will be made closer to the start of that season.
Falcon student-athletes are currently competing in swimming and bowling. Spectators are not allowed but competitions will be streamed on Facebook or YouTube.
