Junior Louie Cassella was the top Falcon performer at the Section 2 Division 1 swimming championships Friday and Saturday, finishing third in the 100 free.
Close behind was junior Carson Engstrom, who placed fourth in the 100 backstroke. Cassella and Engstrom also are members of the fifth-place 200 freestyle relay team that included freshman Ya'ir Sasson and junior Cosmo Martinelli. The same group placed seventh in the 200 medley relay
In addition, Cassella finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke, and Engstrom tied for seventh in the 50 free.
Led by Coach Rossi Maldonado, the team competed in 15 individual and three team events at the championships, which were held at the Shenendehowa Aquatics Center. Prelims were Friday and finals were Saturday.
