Summer theater enrichment

Three student actors rehearse their lines onstage

Students in the City School District of Albany’s summer theater program brushed up on their lines Tuesday as they rehearsed for their upcoming show “The Fact-Fiction-Fantasy of Greek Mythology.”

The program consists of about 40 students in grades 3-11 who act, sing, dance, direct, manage and design under the direction of Theater Ensemble Director Brian Avery (who also wrote the play the troupe is performing). They rehearse from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday at Albany High School.

Check out this very funny (and informative!) show about a group of students learning about Greek mythology. There will be one performance of the play at Albany High on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m.

You can see a Facebook photo album from Tuesday’s rehearsal here. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
