About our department
The City School District of Albany Communications, Creative and Community Engagement departments conduct outreach to students, parents, teachers, staff, local leaders and policymakers, and help share the great things happening in our school each and every day.
The Communications and Creative teams produce the district's quarterly newsletter, Capital Education, the annual school calendar and a variety of other materials throughout the year.
Communications and Creative staff also maintain content on the district website and manage the district's social media tools. Staff also interact with the media to share news about district people, programs and events, and respond to media requests for interviews and information.
The Community Engagement team organizes the district's Parent University content, attends numerous community events throughout the year and conducts door-to-door outreach with families.

The City School District of Albany makes a concerted effort to promote the positive activities, honors and work of our employees and students. District publications and marketing materials, our website and the media may be utilized as tools for such promotion. There may be opportunities where students will be photographed and identified by name and classroom or school. However, we understand that some parents may request that we do not identify their children.
If you do not submit the form linked below, we will assume that we have your permission for your child to be photographed.
This form will be kept on file at your child’s school. If a situation arises that may change your child’s status regarding publicity, please notify the school and the district Communications Department in writing as soon as possible.
