An exhibit featuring artwork by City School District of Albany elementary students will kick off Friday with a reception at the Albany Institute of History & Art.

The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the institute, located at 125 Washington Ave. Admission is free Friday night, so you can check out the talent of our students and explore all the museum has to offer at the same time. You'll also have a chance to hear music performed by band students from Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School.

The student exhibit will feature some 250 works by young artists from all 12 district elementary schools. If you can't make it Friday, you can still see the exhibit on Saturday and Sunday. However,  regular museum admission will be charged.

The Albany Institute of History & Art is the major repository for the region's heritage, with nationally significant collections.

We thank our community partners at the Albany Institute of History & Art for hosting this event for the sixth consecutive year!
