Eagle Point Elementary School will shift to distance learning for the rest of the week due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in recent days.
Eagle Point has had five new COVID-19 cases since Friday, including two reported Monday and two more reported Tuesday. There are an additional 77 individuals required to quarantine as a result of those cases.
Due to these elevated numbers, and after consulting with the Albany County Health Department and the City School District of Albany medical director, the district has made the decision for Eagle Point to switch to distance learning to lessen the risk for further transmission.
The school is scheduled to return to in-person instruction on Monday, Dec. 20.
Teachers will begin live instruction via Google Classroom at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Your child’s teacher will have more information about the full instructional schedule for the rest of this week in their Google Classroom.
Please remember that your child should use their district login credentials to access Google Classroom. You can contact your child’s teacher if you need help with that.
