The Albany High School Theatre Ensemble’s March production of “Hairspray” has earned six nominations for the regional 2018 High School Musical Theatre Awards, including best actress.
Junior Annabelle Duffy, who played the role of feisty Tracy Turnblad, was nominated for best actress. Other nominations the Theatre Ensemble received include best musical, best choreography execution, best ensemble chorus, best set construction and best technical.
A total of 23 area schools are vying for “best” at the awards, coordinated by the School of the Performing Arts at Proctors. The awards ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on May 19 at Proctors, located at 432 State St. in Schenectady.
