Abrookin Career and Technical Center Principal Andrea Marques was one of many who turned out for some pampering Saturday at the school’s Mother’s Day Spa.
Abrookin is home to Albany High School’s career and technical education programs. On Spa Day, students in the Cosmetology Department provided a host of services to those who came for a springtime spruce-up. Clients received two spa services for $20 ranging from manicures to massages to facials to foot care to all manner of hair styling. (Principal Marques is pictured at right, on the left, with her student stylist.)
New this year, high school cosmetology students acted as tutors and mentors to students in the Cosmetology Club from Arbor Hill Elementary School, who in turn assisted the older students.
All services were performed under the supervision of Abrookin cosmetology teachers.
As a bonus, every woman who attended left with a long-stemmed yellow rose
