Founders' Day 2018 nomination deadline Friday

Friday is the last day to submit nominations for 2018 Founders’ Day awards.

Each school building may nominate up to two people to be honored on Founders’ Day. You can download a nomination form here. Submit your nominations to your individual school PTA group. Not sure of your school's contact person? Click here then scroll down to learn.

Every year, Founders’ Day recognizes people who give their time and talents to support students throughout the City School District of Albany. Founders’ Day is sponsored by the Albany City Council PTA (ACCPTA), an umbrella organization made up of parent-teacher associations at schools throughout the district.

This year’s event will be held on Friday, April 27 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Italian-American Community Center. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased through individual school PTAs, PTSAs or the Montessori Community Council.

The event will feature special performances and displays, a silent auction, music and dancing. All proceeds benefit a Scholarship Fund for Albany High School students.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to work in partnership with our diverse community to engage every learner in a robust educational program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for success. The district serves about 9,600 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
