Planned 30-minute phone outage Oct. 20

The City School District of Albany recently has been experiencing Internet speed and bandwidth issues that have caused occasional phone and web outages. If you have had difficulty getting through to a school, office or department at times this week, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

To fix these problems, the district is scheduling a planned 30-minute service outage on Friday morning, Oct. 20. The outage will begin at 11 a.m. Our phone system will not be able to receive outside calls during this 30-minute period of time.

If there is an emergency situation that requires contact with a school, office or department during this time, please contact Director of Communications Ron Lesko at (518) 376-0013. He will connect you with the right person to address the situation. Our internal phone system will be working during the outage, so our own communication between buildings will not be interrupted.

We expect that Friday’s troubleshooting will allow us to fix the problems that have caused the periodic outages we have experienced. As always, your patience and consideration are very much appreciated.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves nearly 9,700 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
