The district, along with transportation partner First Student, is holding yellow bus drills on Sept. 11-12. The informational sessions, which are driver led, include a discussion of bus rules plus brief reminders about what to do in the event of an emergency.
The September safety overview differs from the late-fall evacuation drills, which will be scheduled for November.
“Safely getting your student to and from school is our number one priority,” explains Transportation Director, Denise Towne.
“Please take a couple of minutes to talk to your student about bus expectations.”
For elementary schools that begin at 8 a.m., buses will arrive approximately 15 minutes early for dismissal to conduct the drills. For elementary schools that begin at 9 a.m., the driver will conduct the drill prior to releasing the students to the school in the morning.
