Perspectives in Online Learning: Kenneth Griffin

Kenneth Griffin

Home school coordinator
Giffen Memorial Elementary School

"During this time of distance learning my daily role has changed slightly, but with the same agenda of keeping the students and their families connected to school. A student’s experience and success in school is influenced by many factors that are beyond the school walls - nutrition, health and safety (at home and in the neighborhood)."

"During this pandemic I have worked to ensure that students are delivered daily meals and also worked to supply food bags for families to have over the weekend.  When distance learning first began, I delivered Chromebooks and internet hotspots to ensure that students can engage in their academics and be successful. In my effort to stay connected to the kids, my day also consists of making daily check-in phone calls to families to determine what support they may need during this difficult time."

"I could not complete my job without collaborating with teachers, administrators,  support staff and community organizations that serve our students."
