COVID-19 guidance for school districts has evolved rapidly this month amid the major surge in cases due to the Omicron variant. The health and medical communities continue to focus on the safest protocols that will allow students to attend school in-person each day and participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities.
The City School District of Albany continues to follow the guidance of the Albany County Health Department in our health and safety protocols. This includes updated guidance for five-day quarantine periods for most people, test-to-stay requirements and guidelines for student-athletes.
We have updated important sections of our website with new information for students, families and employees.
- You can find updated general guidance for everyone in our COVID-19 Info and Testing section.
- This includes updated information on our test-to-stay procedures for students and employees.
- Parents and guardians, if your student is identified as a contact of a positive case at school, the nurse will send your student home with this test-to-stay guidance document to assist you.
- For student-athletes, we have updated guidance related to quarantine procedures and EKG requirements in our Athletics section.
