When Tania Swierzewski started teaching second grade at the former School 19 (now New Scotland Elementary) in 1990, she was known as Ms. Connor to her students – one of whom was named Lindsay Rudnick.
Fast forward to 2022. Ms. Connor is now Mrs. Swierzewski and teaches first grade at Delaware Community School. Her former student teaches kindergarten in the same place. And on Friday, the two of them wore t-shirts bearing a quote from Yoda: “Always Pass on What You Have Learned.”
Swierzewski will retire this June. And who knows? Perhaps in 32 years, Rudnick will be standing with one of her former students who became a colleague.
