William S. Hackett Middle School welcomed incoming sixth graders Tuesday to Transition Camp, where they did team building exercises together, toured the school and practiced the art of opening a combination lock.
You can see a Facebook photo album from Tuesday's session. (You don't need a Facebook account to see the pictures linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, “To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
Hackett’s Transition Camp is a three-day event giving new middle schoolers there a chance to explore the building before it starts, learn school expectations and get to know each other.
On Thursday, Hackett will hold a middle school summer orientation for all grades from 6-8:30 p.m., where students and families will learn academic expectations and have the opportunity to tour the school and meet with teachers.
