The City School District of Albany Board of Education has appointed Kate Thies as the district’s new human resources administrator.
Thies comes to the district with a strong background in HR administration, specializing in education. She spent the last 15 years with the University at Albany Office of Human Resources Management, serving as the organization’s assistant director since 2012.
Prior to her time at UAlbany, she worked in the Office of Financial Aid at The College of Saint Rose, where she also earned a master’s degree. Thies earned her undergraduate degree from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt.
The board appointed Thies at its Sept. 22 meeting. She will begin in this new role Oct. 11, replacing Matthew Petrin, who is moving to the Niskayuna Central School District.
Please welcome her to the district!
