The City School District of Albany is forming a committee to review grading and attendance polices, practices and procedures at the secondary level.
The Secondary Grading/Attendance Intersection Task Force will focus on these primary questions:
- Are the district’s policies, procedures and practices for grading and attendance in alignment with New York State Education Department regulations, and our district vision and mission?
- Is the district implementing policies, procedures and practices with fidelity that best supports all students?
The group, comprised of teachers and administrators from the secondary and district levels, will review current policies, procedures and practices regarding grading and attendance, as well as credit-recovery.
The task force will make recommendations as necessary for any updates or revisions to Interim Superintendent John Yagielski by March 31. The process also will include opportunities for students and families to provide input.
