The City School District of Albany is pleased to welcome back C. Fred Engelhardt Jr. to serve as its director of grants and program development.
Engelhardt, who has served as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District since 2017, has extensive experience in Albany.
He began his educational career in 2004 as a teacher at Sheridan Preparatory Academy. In 2012, he became principal of Albany School of Humanities (ASH), where he served five years before accepting the district leadership position at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk.
Engelhardt holds a bachelor’s in elementary education from Roberts Wesleyan College and a master’s in educational administration from the University at Albany. He also earned certification in both building leadership and district leadership at UAlbany and is a Ph.D. candidate there, as well.
Engelhardt will replace longtime grants administrator Eileen Leffler, who retires at the end of the school year. His first day will be May 23.
