Our middle school students who participated in the Liberty Partnership Rising Stars Program, co-sponsored by the University at Albany and Albany High Athletics Department, had a wonderful five weeks of enrichment (and fun) at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School.
The students’ daily schedule included sports training, health and wellness education, academic support and field trips that focused on the educational, career, social and emotional needs of participants while encouraging them to complete secondary education. William S Hackett Middle School ELA teacher Kewsi Burgess was the site coordinator at Myers this summer.
Friday was the final day of the program and students participated in several “friendly” competitions, including a chant and step contest!
