Albany High School had a vibrant back-to-school feel Monday and Tuesday as City School District of Albany administrators, new employees and community partners came together to begin preparations to welcome our students next week.
On Monday, the Albany Fund for Education and First New York Federal Credit Union teamed up to provide gift cards to newly hired members of the Albany Public School Teachers Association on their first day of orientation. AFE Executive Director Mari Shopsis, First New York Vice President of Marketing and Member Development Justin Cresswell, and First New York Membership Development Officer Michelle LaVoy partnered to distribute the gift cards.
A bit later Monday morning, representatives from Gray Point LLC, a local financial advising and investment management firm, dropped off a large donation of school supplies for the high school to share with students and families.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter and the district’s senior leadership team welcomed back principals, instructional supervisors and department directors Monday and Tuesday for professional development and operational updates for the new year.
