The City of Albany is accepting applications through March 31 for the 2024 LIGHT Summer Youth Employment Program.
The LIGHT Program – Learning, Initiative and Gaining Headway Together – will run from July 8-Aug. 9.
The program is open to youth aged 14-18 who live in Albany. Youth employees will work up to 20 hours per week, earn $15 per hour and must meet all eligibility and orientation requirements to participate.
In order complete the registration process, you will need to:
- Fill out the online application by noon on March 31;
- Print out and complete the payroll packet (it will be mailed to you once online registration is completed; you also can pick up a payroll packet in the main office at your middle school, Albany International Center, Tony Clement Center for Education, and your academy office at Albany High School);
- Between March 11-March 29 from 3-6 p.m. and April 1-12 9 a.m.-5 p.m., bring the payroll packet and the additional required documents to the Summer Youth Employment Office in Bleecker Stadium; and
- Attend and complete a family orientation session in May.
