Two of the Times Union 2023-24 indoor track and field All Stars are Falcons! The recognition honors top student-athletes in our region.
Congratulations to:
- Samir Gardner (first team - junior long jumper)
- Won Division I title at sectionals
- Finished fourth at states with a jump of 22 feet, 5 inces, a distance that ranks second in Section 2 this season
- Won the state qualifier
- Finished eighth in the Nike Nationals Emerging Elite Division
- Malachi Young (second team - senior 55-meter hurdles)
- Won the event at Section 2 qualifiers
- Finished 14th at states
- Finished 42nd in the Nike Nationals Championship Division
The City School District of Albany, and coaches Steve Gallagher and Pawan Thapalia, are proud of Gardner and Young's hard work during the winter season and are excited for what they will accomplish during the spring outdoor season!
