The weather was perfect Tuesday for “Evening in the Garden,” the annual bash sponsored by the Vegetable Project.
The 2024 event was held at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, home to a beautiful garden classroom supported and maintained by the Vegetable Project, an all-volunteer group that provides City School District of Albany students with hands-on learning opportunities involving science and the environment while they grow vegetables and other plants.
The B Flats, Albany High School’s intermediate jazz ensemble, provided background music as students, staff, families and community members toured the garden. Guests also sampled great cuisine from several local eateries and Albany High’s culinary program.
Other community partners were on hand with information about their programs and – of course – there were plenty of gardening pros on hand to share their expertise.
Check out a Facebook photo album from the party. (You don’t need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
