Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter will host a series of virtual budget Q&A sessions to provide additional information for community members in advance of the May 21 vote.
The first Q&A session will be Thursday at 2 p.m. The sessions will be available via Microsoft Teams and you can use this link to access Thursday's meeting.
The superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance Joseph Karas will be available to answer your questions at each session. Here is the full schedule:
- Thursday, May 16 – 2 p.m. Meeting link.

2024-25 budget proposal information
The budget vote and Board of Education election is coming up next Tuesday. The $326.2 million budget proposal for the 2024-25 school year has no tax-levy increase for the second year in a row, and the fourth time in the last nine years.
The proposal would continue to support all current programs and staffing, and also would invest in 25.6 new positions. The ballot also will include three school-related propositions, none of which would have any additional impact on taxes.
There is one Board of Education seat up for election this year. Board member Hassan Elminyawi is running unopposed.
Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. at 15 locations city-wide. You can visit our Voter Information section to find your voting location.
Note that there is one new voting location this year: Voters in the Eighth Ward (Districts 1-4) and the 14th Ward (all districts) will vote at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, located at 100 Elbel Court off Whitehall Road.
There also is an early voting option for all eligible voters.
