The City School District of Albany joins our family members, friends and neighbors in the LGBTQ+ community to celebrate Pride Month.
All during June, we honor LGBTQ+ people in our city, state and nation and commemorate the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City.
Close to home, you can get into the spirit of Pride Month at Sunday’s Capital Pride 2024 Parade and Festival in Washington Park. The school district will have an information table at the festival – stop by and say hello if you’re there! You can also get a list of pride-related activities happening this month and throughout the summer in and around Albany.
In our district, we are excited to have our students, faculty and staff engage in informed, age-appropriate discussions about gender identity and inclusivity in our ongoing work to create safe and inclusive learning environments for all members of our diverse school community.
