The full report from the City School District of Albany’s 2024 communications audit is now available.

Conducted last winter and spring by independent auditors from the National School Public Relations Association, the review offered a comprehensive evaluation of our district-wide communications program.

The 80-page report provides key findings on the auditors’ extensive research, a SWOT analysis, results from the 567 responses to our communications survey, benchmarking of our overall results against similar studies in more than 100 school districts nationally, and seven recommendations to help improve communication with all members of our school community.

NSPRA advises implementation of its recommendations over several years. Led by our Communications Department team and Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter, we will begin implementing several tactics during the upcoming school year as we begin this work, touching on each of the seven recommendation areas.

We are grateful to everyone who provided contributions to this report through participation in NSPRA’s focus groups and survey. That feedback was instrumental to the development of this communications roadmap, which will help guide our efforts to build a stronger school district for our entire community through improved communication.

The Board of Education reviewed an overview of the report at its Aug. 22 meeting (you can watch the video of the meeting; the presentation begins at about 2:03.50).

Frank Kwan, the lead auditor from NSPRA's team, also will present on the report and his team's findings at the board’s Sept. 12 meeting.

Our thanks once again to everyone who contributed to this successful and important process.
