We are over the moon to announce that on Wednesday, April 9, Albany High School has earned nominations in three different categories for the 2025 High School Musical Theatre Awards (HSMTA)!

This program showcases and celebrates the incredible talent of students involved in high school musical theatre across the Capital Region, with a red-carpet style showcase hosted on the MainStage at Proctors on Saturday, May 10, at 7 p.m.

For the 2025 high school musical season, 21 schools in the Capital Region competed and we are proud to announce Albany High School’s nominations in the following categories for “Bring It On: the Musical!”

  • Outstanding Ensemble
  • Outstanding Orchestra
  • Outstanding Musical Tier A

Additionally, Iris Whalen received a callback for Outstanding Lead, and the final top ten nominees will be announced on Monday, April 21! The two Outstanding Lead Performer winners will move on to compete at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards—also known as The Jimmys—this June in New York City.
