Summer school begins Monday, July 8
The Albanettes once again shared a stage with Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
Albany High School’s all-female a cappella singing group sang at the governor’s 2018 State of the State message on Jan 3. 2016 The event marked the third time the Albanettes have performed for Gov. Cuomo. They also sang for the 2016 State of the State and at his New Year’s Day swearing-in ceremony in January 2011.
Under the direction of teacher Brendan Hoffman, members of the group performed “The Star Spangled Banner” and "New York State of Mind."
The mission of the City School District of Albany is to work in partnership with our diverse community to engage every learner in a robust educational program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for success. The district serves nearly 9,700 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
