Congratulations to the 24 students who were inducted into Albany High School’s chapter of the Société Honoraire de Français (French Honor Society) on Thursday night.
To be inducted to the society, students must have achieved a 90 or better average in French and an 85 overall average in their other academic subjects.
In addition to the new members, two graduating senior members were awarded with medals from the American Association of the Teachers of French (AATF). Ian Boldiston was awarded the AATF Outstanding Senior Award and Sophia Gaffney was awarded the AATF Excellence in French Award. Both of them received medals to wear at graduation.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to work in partnership with our diverse community to engage every learner in a robust educational program designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for success. The district serves more 9,600 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
