Albany High musicians chosen for Suburban Council festival

A dozen outstanding Albany High School vocalists and instrumentalists have been selected from among top local high-school musicians to perform in the Suburban Council Music Festival.

The annual festival will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 at Columbia High School, 962 Luther Road, East Greenbush. Ensembles will include a high-school band, chorus and orchestra and a middle-school jazz band.

Students were chosen based on audition scores, teacher recommendations and needs for the upcoming concert program.

The district serves nearly 9,700 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools.
