Summer school begins Monday, July 8
Congratulations to Albany High School senior Erin Lippitt, who has earned an Advanced Placement-Project Lead the Way Achievement in Engineering award.
She is one of some 3,000 students from throughout the United States to receive the distinction from The College Board.
A student in Albany High’s acclaimed International Baccalaureate Diploma program, Lippitt earned the award because of her outstanding performance on exams in courses related to engineering: AP Biology, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Design and Drawing for Production. She has taken and excelled in a total of five AP classes alongside her International Baccalaureate studies.
She plans to major in astrophysics in college.
The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves nearly 9,700 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
