The following message is from Principal Jodi Commerford:
Dear Families:
I am writing to let you know that Albany High School will not be available for in-person teaching and learning on Tuesday, Dec. 15 due to work on our ongoing construction and renovation project that will temporarily disrupt phone service and Internet connectivity. This means we will have no access to web-based platforms such as the Google Suite and schooltool.
Due to this, Tuesday will be a virtual learning day for all students. This includes students on our main campus as well as at Abrookin Career and Technical Center. Teachers are working with our in-person students to prepare them for a day of virtual learning. Any materials students will need will go home with them Monday afternoon, including Chromebooks and chargers if they have theirs in school Monday.
Teachers also will make sure that all planned instruction and digital resources are available for students through web-based platforms.
“Grab and go” meals will be available at Albany High on Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Also, students who scheduled yearbook photos or photo retakes on Tuesday should go to Abrookin to be photographed at their scheduled time.
We will return to our normal operations for all students and employees Wednesday.
Please call me at (518) 475-6200 or email me at jcommerford@albany.k12.ny.us if you have questions or concerns.
