Make a new year’s resolution to save lives by donating blood at Albany High's second blood drive of the school year.
The drive will be held on Thursday, Jan. 7 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the library.
For health and safety reasons related to COVID-19, all prospective donors 17 years of age and older must make an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or register online and use the sponsor code AlbanyHS.
The exception is students who are 16 and want to donate; those students need to call the library at (518) 475-6320 for more information.
Donors must enter the main office at Tower 2 where they will receive a temperature check, have their appointment verified and fill out a COVID screener before going to the library. All donors must wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
Besides saving lives, giving blood will help our student blood-drive coordinator, senior Maggie Papa. Each donation counts towards a Red Cross scholarship for her.
