Congratulations to Albany High School junior Brian Maung, who recently placed third out of 167 Capital Region students who took part in the recent Junior Achievement Titan Competition.
JA Titan is a web-based simulation program in which high school students compete as business CEOs in the phone industry, experiencing firsthand how an organization evaluates alternatives, makes decisions, analyzes the outcomes of those decisions, and then strategizes what to do next.
The students' success depends on decisions about their product's price and their company's marketing, production, research and development, and business practices.
As part of the preparation for this competition, students met virtually with Carm Basile, the CEO of CDTA, and John Watt, the CEO of NBT Bank. In these discussions, students got tips and advice about how to run a business from the top.
“Brian was really engaged through the entire process and put a lot of effort into the competition. I am happy that all his hard work is being recognized,” said Christopher Austen, Maung’s business teacher.
Maung won a VISA gift card for his efforts.
