Albany High School’s Night School Program will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Abrookin Career and Technical Center, located at 99 Kent St.

The program will run from 4-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The academic schedule will coincide with Albany High's schedule going forward.

The program provides an alternative setting to students at who need a different option than the traditional daytime school. Students with family obligations, employment responsibilities, as well as those who simply benefit from a smaller setting find the Night School a place where they can focus on meeting graduation requirements.

The focus of the Night School Program is strictly academics and meeting the requirements for graduation. This highly structured program is designed for juniors and seniors who have fallen behind, and it provides them with an opportunity to graduate with their class or within the next school year. The program seeks to improve students' attitudes toward learning and to give them a sense of improved responsibility toward their education and post-secondary goals. Classroom teachers help students to focus in on the information and skills needed for success on the New York State Regents Exams.
