Albany High School briefly implemented hold-in-place procedures Friday afternoon to investigate a security concern.
At about 2:15 p.m., administrators received information that a student may have had a gun in the building. This information was quickly investigated and determined to be unfounded.
As soon as staff received the information, the school put hold-in-place security procedures in place, notified the Albany Police Department and quickly identified and talked with all students involved. The investigation determined there was no security threat and school lifted the hold-in-place at about 2:35 p.m.
During a hold-in-place, students remain in their classrooms and hallway activity is restricted. All other building operations continue normally.
