Students and adults pose with ceremonial check

We have the BEST community partners.

On Tuesday, the mechanical side of the Albany High School robotics team gratefully accepted a $7,500 check from the Gene Haas Foundation.

Delivering the check was Dave Sharpe of Allendale Machinery, a local distributor of Haas machines. The Gene Haas Foundation donates millions of dollars every year to manufacturing education and community programs throughout the country. The foundation is a longtime supporter of Falcon robotics.

This year’s team – officially known as FIRST Robotics Team 1493 – boasts nearly 50 members, the largest number ever. The team will be competing in two regional competitions in March: the Finger Lakes Regional at Rochester Institute of Technology and the Tech Valley Regional at RPI.

Thank you, Haas Foundation!
