News of the week

  • CTE Express is here – Check out the fall/winter edition of Albany High's career and technical education newsletter!
  • No school next Friday – Next Friday is a scheduled parent-teacher conference and professional staff development day, so there are no classes.
  • Parent-teacher conferences next Thursday, Friday – Albany High will hold parent-teacher conferences on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and Friday from noon-3 p.m. Teachers are contacting families to schedule appointments. Parents and guardians also can schedule appointments by emailing teachers directly or calling their student's academy office. 
  • Spa Day is Feb. 11 – Pamper yourself or a loved one with high-end beauty services on Feb. 11 at Valentine’s Day Spa Day! The event will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the salon classroom. For the first time, barbering services will be offered along with salon services! Learn more.
  • Indoor percussion show Feb. 11. – Seniors dominate the varsity Albany Indoor Percussion Ensemble this year, and they hope their collective experience as a group pays off when they compete Feb. 11 at their home show, which is open to the public and starts at 12:30 p.m. Learn more.
  • Open Mic Night Feb. 16 – Students or staff who like to sing, play an instrument, recite poetry, rap, showcase artwork, read a short story or perform comedy or a monologue can perform. Performers need to sign up ahead of time to guarantee their time slot. Learn more and sign up.

  • Thursday, Feb. 16 – Open Mic Night, library, 6-8 p.m.
  • Friday, Feb. 17 – Second quarter honor roll celebration, cafeterias, ninth period
  • Monday, Feb. 20-Friday, Feb. 24 – Presidents Day and Winter Recess, no school

Important reminders

  • Student ID reminders – All students must present their school ID when they enter the building. Students can no longer enter the building using their student number. Students IDs should always be visible, and students should have their schedule readily available.
