Albany High School seniors taking Civics and Public Engagement spent class Thursday at a community partner fair in the library, where they met one-to-one with representatives from a half dozen local advocacy organizations.
The goal of the fair was to help students identify a social justice mission they are passionate about that can be part of their civic action requirement for the class.
The event grew out of the partnership between Albany High, the People’s Perception Project and the NAACP. Representatives from both groups were there Thursday, along with people from Freedom Unshackled, Community Matters Inc., Albany Community Closet and more.
