Albany High saves lives

Smiling person is hooked up to a double red blood donation machine

Students, staff and family members rolled up their sleeves Thursday at Albany High to donate life-saving blood. It was the second of three drives the school holds each year. Senior Elyse Roepe and junior Jakiem Walden are this year’s student blood drive coordinators under the guidance of librarian Alicia Abdul. Both are in the running to receive scholarship money from the Red Cross if the school meets its blood donation goal. Thanks to all our donors. Mark your calendar – the next blood drive is June 7!

Take a look at a Facebook photo album from Thursday's drive(You don't need a Facebook account to see the photos linked in the highlighted text. A window may appear that says, "To see more from Albany City Schools on Facebook, log on or create an account,” but you can dismiss it by clicking “not now.”)
