District closed for Independence Day
Congratulations to the members of Albany High School’s Mock Trial Team! They won their first competition Thursday night, defeating Catholic Central High School in the New York State bar Association’s 2023 High School Mock Trial Tournament.
The Falcon team played the role of defense in Remington Stone v. Marley Miser and Acme Construction Company, a case about a construction worker named Remington Stone who falls and is injured when working on a job site at the home of Marley Miser.
Participants included Katherine Myers, Arianna Costello and Grace Ustin as defense lawyers, and Alpha Mathai, Sienna Stewart and Ryan O'Connor as witnesses.
They return to court next week and will represent the plaintiffs. Teacher Leah Evans is their adviser.
