Business concepts and civics students at Albany High School had a lively discussion Wednesday with CDTA CEO Carm Basile, who shared his philosophies about running a business, making decisions and strategizing.

Basile’s talk helped students in Christopher Austen’s Business Concepts class prepare for the upcoming Junior Achievement JA Titan CEO Challenge later this month. Leadership Academy Principal Michaela Miranda stopped by to listen, as did students from Peter Anderson’s Civics class.

Austen’s students will compete in pairs against students from four other high schools in the challenge, which sets up students as business CEOs in the phone industry and lets them experience firsthand how an organization evaluates alternatives, makes decisions, analyzes the outcomes of those decisions, and then strategizes what to do next.

Thanks to our terrific partners at JA of Northeastern New York for coordinating the event!
