  • Attention seniors – Show your Falcon pride and help raise money for your senior prom by buying Albany High merch! When you do, the cost of tickets lowers for everyone, and the prom is more accessible to all. Shop here.
  • Robotics on the move – Check out this video of Dr. K, the Robotics Team 1493 robot that will be competing at two upcoming regional contests, the first this weekend at Rochester Institute of Technology. Good luck Falcons and Dr. K!
  • Parent info session on healthy eating – Learn about how to save money at the grocery store and incorporate healthy foods into your diet without breaking your budget. Healthy eating is the topic for March’s Parent University, which will be held virtually this Monday at 7 p.m. Learn more.
  • Art Erbe named Ch. 13 Top Teacher – Tune into WNYT NewsChannel 13 this Wednesday –  construction technology teacher Art Erbe will be featured as a Top Teacher for the 2022-23 school year! Each year, Channel 13 spotlights 13 outstanding area teachers from several hundred that were nominated by their colleagues and students.
  • Falcon Library After Dark next Friday – Hang out and have pizza, watch movies, play board and card games, toss a bean bag or have fun with a computer at Falcon Library After Dark. This supervised social event is open to all Albany High students. If interested, turn in this permission slip to the library by Wednesday. The event is happening from 6-9 p.m. next Friday in the library.
  • Author Candace Fleming coming March 29 – Visiting authors are back at Albany High for the first time since the pandemic, and Candace Fleming will be in the library on March 29. She'll speak to some classes, and all students are invited to participate in a competition to read Fleming's books. Learn more.
  • OVATIONS: Save the date – 2023 OVATIONS will be held Friday, June 9, at the Italian-American Community Center at 5:30 p.m. Similar to the former PTA Founders Day, OVATIONS will recognize individuals throughout the school district for their volunteer work.   • Mock Trial Team advances – Congratulations to the Mock Trial Team, which defeated CBA Wednesday night and advanced to the finals of the New York Bar Association’s 2023 Mock Trial Tournament. The team is advised by AB/IB Coordinator Leah Evans, and they are up against the Albany Academies in the next round of competition. Stay tuned!
  • Unified bowling has fine finale – The Albany High School Unified Bowling Team ended a great season Wednesday with a student-staff matchup and pizza party at Del Lanes. Important reminders

  • Time to apply for Summer Youth Employment Program – Attention students aged 14-18: The City of Albany is accepting applications through March 31 for the 2023 LIGHT Summer Youth Employment Program, which will run from July 10-Aug. 11. Youth employees will work up to 20 hours per week, earn $14.25 per hour and must meet all eligibility and orientation requirements to participate. Learn more.
  • Free spa services for 55+ – Cosmetology students are offering free salon services to any city residents aged 55 and up on Tuesdays and Thursdays through May. An appointment is required. Learn more.
