Food pantry this week – The school food pantry behind the Citizenship Office is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:45-5:30 p.m. or by appointment with your home school coordinator. Last week we welcomed 18 new families! Specials this week include Healthy Choice sesame chicken frozen dinners, frozen squash, fresh fruit, plum tomatoes, frozen swordfish, pineapple fruit cups. cinnamon raisin bagels, hot dogs and rolls, white rice, cream of mushroom soup and kidney beans.
Falcon jazz community gigs – The Jazzmanian Devils will perform on Oct. 15 at the Albany County Farmers Marketfrom 2-4 p.m., and on Oct. 20, the B Flats and Jazzmanian Devils will resume their Friday gig at Spinners.
Bocce enrichment – The competition was fierce yet friendly Thursday on the bocce courts at the Italian-American Community Center, where Falcons perfected their technique under the guidance of Coach Alicia Arasim. See highlights here.

Homecoming highlights – Last Saturday dawned rainy and chilly, but skies cleared for Albany High School’s Homecoming 2023 football game against Mohonasen. A pregame tailgating party and live music set the stage for Albany High’s 45-30 victory over Mohonasen, powered by senior Elijah Temple’s amazing efforts.

Leaving school – Albany High School is a closed campus. Students are not allowed to leave campus for any reason without parent permission. This includes during lunch and study hall. If a student has an appointment, i.e. doctor, medical, family matter, etc., they must have a note or phone call from a parent giving permission to leave. All students also must be signed out by a parent in order to leave school grounds. Students who leave campus without a valid reason will not be allowed to re-enter without parent contact.
Traveling to and from Abrookin – All students must take the bus to and from Abrookin Career and Technical Center and the main campus for any classes. This will prevent students from being late and having to go back through security, and ensure student safety. Students who do not take the bus will not be allowed to re-enter without parent contact. The bus is available at Building 2, Stair 2-2 and at the Abrookin entrance.
